The Li-Ning Shadow Essential is constructed with a single TPE plate, and is not IAAF approved if you run at an elite or sub-elite level. The shoe may be used on an exercise plan for competition, where you have to complete a race or improve your personal record.

BOOM & Lightfoam midsole

Shadow Essential is designed with a midsole consisting of PEBAX foam called BOOM Technology, which has an incredibly high energy return compared to other midsole materials and Lightfoam, which is a slightly firmer but more durable material. BOOM Technology is also the lightest and most bouncy material to construct midsoles in. For comparison, the same PEBAX foam is also used in e.g. Nike Vaporfly Next%, Nike Alphafly and Saucony Endorphin Pro.

Rebound by Jiang Technology

Li-Ning Shadow Essential is engineered with Li-Ning's Jiang technology. It is an innovative shock absorption system that combines shock absorption both from the midsole but also the geometry of the midsole, i.e. this arch you can see in the middle of the midsole. In the midsole you will also find TPE plate, which in addition to ensuring good stability, also helps to give you extra energy return. The TPE plate is designed in full length with a foot-shaped design (Dynamic Foot Arch) that follows the natural shape of the foot. So you get maximum comfort and shock absorption in this Li-Ning shoe, in a creative and futuristic way.

MONO Yarn- og Cool Shell Technology

The upper part is designed in a thin, highly breathable, braided material. It has a sock-like fit that is adaptive to the individual's foot, and thus without a classic tongue. The lacing system is like the rest of the shoe with high functionality. The upper part is stabilized by reinforcements glued to the upper part, which provide a good and comfortable fit.

Shadow Essential contains Cool Shell Technology, which ensures the right temperature regulation around the feet even on hot days.

GCU Anti-slip Technology

The Li-Ning Feidian Shadow is designed with a durable outsole for all weather conditions on firm surfaces. Li-Ning calls it GCU Technology (Ground Control Unit - all-weather anti-slip) and ensures a firm grip regardless of whether it is wet or dry.
